SODA.Sim now supports ROS
27 March, London, United Kingdom
SODA.Sim is a great tool for developing and testing active safety systems and driver assistance systems (AD/ADAS).
SODA.Sim also provides HIL support which makes it a powerful solution for Vehicle Integration Testing.
Based on the feedback from our users we decided to implement integration with ROS (Robot Operating System). Combined with the photo-realistic graphics of Unreal Engine, this allows us to offer a powerful solution for robotics development, meeting the needs of the most diverse projects in robotics.
Last week SODA has released SODA.Sim v1.1 with ROS2 support , broadening its capabilities to a spectrum of robotic applications from drones to manipulators.
The first user of our ROS release is the AV4EV project developed by Autoware's Centers of Excellence at the University of Pennsylvania. Led by Rahul Mangharam and his team of graduate students, this project introduces a one-half-scale autonomous go-kart platform, setting a new standard in the field of autonomous vehicle (AV) research, including localization, trajectory following, and obstacle avoidance.
This opens up promising pathways for academic exploration and the potential transformation of vehicle systems in restricted environments, enhancing safety, mobility, and sustainability.
